The rooms were clean and comfortable, with great beds. Convenient location near the lake and close to Thingvellir National Park. Friendly and helpful staff, especially during a storm. Good kitchen facilities and a small gym for sports activities.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The hostel is perfect for exploring the south area in Iceland, situated in a unique ancient elementary school with a fun common area. the private rooms are comfortable, and fresh bedsheets and towels are provided. Guests can also enjoy the school's gym and play basketball. Breakfast is offered and there are maps available in the room.

The bathroom could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and there were no cubicles in the shower.

We had an amazing stay at Ljosafossskoli! the architecture of the building was incredible, with high ceilings and spacious rooms. the shared toilets and bathrooms were plentiful and more than sufficient. the breakfast provided was enough for us, and the highlight of our stay was getting to see the northern lights at night. the location of the hostel was also perfect, situated in a quiet area just 20 minutes away from popular attractions like Hveragardi and Thingvellir. the lady in charge was very welcoming and gave us excellent tips on what to do and where to go. we loved our 2-night stay and would definitely return if we have the chance. Cons: Nothing I didn't like to be fair. 🤷‍♀️.
